Been a long time again !

Think it is maybe because I am so wary of what I put OUT there yannow?
5yrs on and Mom is still in PM and doing fine except for a little tussle with bedbugs !!
Nice to be back though.

It always seems to be a long time between posts!

Well I guess there is some justification, Mom is still on a long downward slide I suppose with the dementia and all. Perhaps Dr D will prescribe some Aricept and I hope that will help her somewhat. Today we went up to see her and the new residence again, and were shown the flooring options....not good. So, we went to the carpet centre and chose a nice blue short piled carpetting. They will get in touch with a quote, and we will likely go ahead. Mom said she could not see herself living there for years with that lousy brown ugly berber carpet. They will even put some underpad under it too. Going up again on Friday again, will have her bill paid too and will look into her filing and maybe clear that up some.

Been a long while

Nice to be back here I think. Mom is not well, but I'll be going up to see her in the am, we'll see what we'll see. It has been a while and I'll try to come back more often.

A Few Worries

This does not get much better....for now. The markets have dumped, Dow down another 500 today, but I will not see the effect of this until tomorrow.....we are down about $150M but remember...You are invested for the LONG TERM. ( For me that means another 30 yrs or so ) but you know.....if ever our totals get reasonably up again..I may take a little bit more conservative line, but you never know.......here's hoping the elections go well in the US of A but it looks like that Obama guy might make it...sure hope not ! Yea Rush!!

Flooring

Well it has been a while. I am in the middle....(perhaps 5/8s of the way) of completing the installation of a Brazilian Cherry 3/4" 3 1/4 " plank floor in the Living and Dining rooms. It IS a lot of work, and I have borrowed a Stapler from Dale at BWP, it is a Primatech, and I am not sure I like it. While it does staple a bit closer.....the staples that Dale gave me seem to be of a larger gauge then others I have seen, even if they are what is called for because of the Cherry wood being harder. What I do not like is that in some cases I see a little bulge in the wood ontop of the staple.....Dale says he has heard of that and that it may be because of the higher density of the wood...and no place for the staple to go. He suggested turning the pressure UP on the compressor maybe to 100 rather than the 75 to 80 I was using. I have and it has not gone away yet.....

So...all in all....I am not pleased....maybe I expect too much.

May finish tomorrow...or Saturday...nothing can be done I suppose.......sheesh !

I shall get Mark P's stapler soon...and try it I think...but it will be back on oak again..so the problem may just go away.
